Heitt's Plumbing and Heating

About Heitt's Plumbing & Heating “In 1961, Uncle Ben Knorr started a plumbing and heating business in a small shop”, said Glen Heitt. That building is still used by Heitts Plumbing and Heating today, for cold storage. Glen and Larry Heitt took over the business in 1981, and today have 12 employees, including themselves. Stan Weber, a journeyman plumber, is the longest serving employee and is also a shareholder. Wanda and Sheila can be found at the front counter, looking after customers and the books. Core Services The business offers residential and commercial plumbing, as well as all kinds of heating – forced air, boiler heaters, floor heating, radiant garage heating, unity heating and propane and natural gas heating. They also do residential and commercial air conditioning. A variety of barbecues and accessories can be found in their showroom. Heitts also deal with farm well septic pumps and constant pressure pumps, water conditioning systems, whole house RO septic and have a complete line of service equipment for drain cleanings with a roto-rooter. They carry many “do it yourself” products to help out the handy man. They also carry, or can access, a full line of plumbing fixtures, taps, showers, tubs and steam showers. One of their greatest strengths is personal contact with customers. They pride themselves on jobs well-done and seeing satisfaction from the people they work for. They’ve been commended for the promptness of service calls – no matter the hour or day – when a furnace quits or a water heater stops working. Customers remark on the minimal impact their work has on a household, as Heitts’ staff are dedicated to ensuring as little disruption as possible. Glen and wife Wanda are avid curlers, competing each year in events that could lead them to provincial competition. Glen is president of the Unity Curling Club. Walmer Mechanical

About Walmer Mechanical Mike Wamsley & Scott Halford Mike starting working in the industrial mechanical / Instrumentation industry in 2000 in a warehouse for service and calibrations. Then moved on in the industry as a Millwright working on large steam, hot water and compressed air system recertifying safety relief valves. In 2007 started apprenticeship in the refrigeration and heating trade servicing residential, commercial and industrial applications. In 2008 received the Sporal personal excellence award. Level 3 received the gold medal in Manitoba skills Comp and bronze medal in Canadian Skills Competition in Edmonton. After years of being a red seal refrigeration mechanical and red seal “A” ticket mechanical, decided to branch off with Scott Halford to have a company that we could be proud of. Doing service and installations the way that we would want it done for our family members. Started his Apprenticeship in 2012 obtaining a Red Seal in Commercial Refrigeration. Following up the Refrigeration ticket with a Red Seal in A Gas fitting completed in 2019. Upon completion he was awarded the 2019 Highest Achievement award in the Trade of Gasfitter A. Incorporated Walmer Mechanical Ltd. with Mike in 2018 doing solely residential in addition to working daytime commercial/industrial work. In March 2020 the choice was made to do Walmer Mechanical Ltd. full time so our work portfolio was modified to include commercial and industrial.
